The Multicultural Health Institute (MHI) sought to significantly elevate its fundraising and outreach efforts. Previously hindered by short-term support, MHI needed a dependable partner to develop a detailed strategy that would utilize existing assets, engage the community effectively, and inspire donors to deepen their involvement.

MHI was on a tight deadline with two major giving days within a three-month span. The organization required a revamp of their email newsletters, clarification of their content for donor engagement, and updates to donation forms and processes. These needs had to be met while maintaining program delivery and fulfilling commitments to collaborators, grantors, and partners.

Quill Shift provided a robust communications strategy that aligned MHI’s channels with its mission, elevated its messaging, and enhanced collaboration with various stakeholders.

The Give 8/28 campaign was a focal point, yielding a 130% increase in donations and an 89% rise in donor numbers compared to the previous year.

Quill Shift’s efforts also led to the successful revamp of MHI’s website and newsletters, which have garnered multiple compliments.

These results were achieved through strategic planning, creation of key communication materials, and a comprehensive approach to community engagement.

Key deliverables included:

  • A Give 8/28 campaign with crafted emails, updated giving page copy, social media content, and a post-mortem breakdown with advice for the following year
  • Creation of a master mission and vision marketing content document, email marketing newsletter templates, and newsletter template images, ensuring easy future edits and consistent branding
  • A guide for copyrighting MHI materials and best practice suggestions along with reformatting of an advertiser ad for the newsletter
  • A comprehensive redesign and reorganization of the MHI website
  • A full Giving Tuesday plan for the following year, complete with a direct ask, emails, social content suggestions, and potential partnerships
